Casa Barranca lies along the south rim of the internationally recognized Black Canyon of the Gunnison River. This scenic canyon is so impressive that it is one of Colorado’s “must see” national parks. Casa Barranca consists of an exceptional custom built home on 33 +/- acres, tucked into a hillside within the boundary of the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. Privately gated and within the park entrance there is little to distinguish this exceptional property from the park. Inspiring views from the Casa look into the canyon with the snowcapped peaks of the West Elk Mountains in the background.
Protected by the park boundaries, Casa Barranca is quite secluded yet very convenient to the charming community of Montrose, Colorado. With the park serving as a sanctuary for the diverse wildlife of the area, the property is frequently visited by elk, deer, bear, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep and other species. Outstanding fishing is minutes away at the bottom of the canyon below Crystal River Dam on the renowned Gunnison River.
In addition to the spectacular site, the Casa itself is an exceptionally well built home that has never been lived in, luxuriously appointed with custom furnishings and meticulously landscaped.
For those needing more land, within ½ mile of the Casa is a 1766 acre ranch with log lodge and 2 additional cabins.
